Islamophobia has become a “political epidemic” in Europe.
As Day.Az reports with reference to Trend, Deputy Director of AMI Trend, head of the media platform Turkic.World (Turkic World), political commentator Rufiz Hafizoglu said this.
“Unfortunately, today in many European states Islamophobia is growing day by day, and this has already grown into a “political epidemic”. This is controlled by the political circles of the West, and in particular France, from a single center. Currently, many Western states resemble Germany before World War II. Far-right and nationalist thinking is becoming increasingly stronger in these states,” he said.
R. Hafizoglu noted that Western states that today talk about human rights and democracy are very far from democratic values.
“For some reason, burning the Koran in front of the police is a human right, but objecting to it is considered radicalism. Western countries, and France in particular, apply double standards against many Muslim countries,” the political commentator added.
He believes that many of the platforms represented by Europe are no longer dialogue platforms, but are used as a pressure mechanism.
