The European Space Agency (ESA) invites Bulgarian universities and scientific organizations to participate in the first conference for higher education, the Ministry of Innovation and Growth informs through its official page. The conference is intended for the associated and cooperating member states of ESA, such as Bulgaria, Cyprus, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovenia and others. The event will take place from 6 to 8 May 2024 at the ESA Research Center building in Madrid, Spain.

The purpose of the conference is to promote international cooperation and the creation of contacts between the participants to encourage new collaborations, BTA reported.

The event will showcase space higher education and share the experiences of those who have recently developed or are planning to develop space-related courses for their undergraduate and graduate programs, the statement said. PEACE.

The conference includes sessions covering space data use education and downstream application development, spacecraft engineering, and ground segments. It is recommended that applicants have experience in the implementation of projects financed under the Agreement on the European Cooperating Country (ECC) of Bulgaria with ESA.

The deadline for registration is March 15, 2024.

BTA reminds that the current MIR administration considers the Komsos sector as a strategic asset for the long-term competitiveness and economic growth of Bulgaria. Minister Milena Stoycheva announced at the ministerial meeting of the ESA Council in the Spanish city of Seville in November that Bulgaria is striving for associate membership in the agency and is steadily increasing its contribution.
