I didn’t live with Nevena Zartova, Kalamaris confuses me with one of his lawyers, says the defense attorney involved in the scam with Martin Bojanov by the Greeks.
Lawyer Velimir Atanasov sent a right of reply to “24 Chasa” in connection with the claims of businessmen Anastasios Dikos and Joakim Kalamaris that he is one of the main participants in Martin Bojanov’s schemes. Here is his unedited letter:
The false claims of Anastasios Dikos and Joachim Kalamaris are flooding the media, repeatedly mentioning my name, in which I am obliged to exercise my right of reply, which I hold to be published in full and without cuts or corrections. Apart from that, I will be suing them for the outright lies that have been told.
First of all, I should point out that the three companies in which I was a partner with Martin Bojanov carried out commercial activity during the period 2015-2018, only connected with one commercial bank. They have not had any activity since 2018. Since 2018, my only relationship with Bojanov has been reduced to the fact that I was his lawyer in his three cases regarding the termination of his marriage with Adriana Simeonova and settlement of property relations in connection with the termination of their marriage. As far as I know and without breaching the lawyer’s secret, Martin Bojanov and Petio Evroto were on the side of Kalamaris and Dikos and I was warned by them /but not only by them/ that if I continue to deal with my clients I will have big problems .
Secondly, I should point out that I never had any meetings with Dikos and Kalamaris, except in court. I have not entered into communication with them in any way, including through third parties; even less have I mentioned the name of Mrs. Nevena Zartova or the names of other magistrates. My relations with Nevena Zartova are only friendly and collegial, they date back to years, from the time when I was a judge in the Sofia District Court, and she was then an ordinary prosecutor who sat with me. I never discussed cases with her, I never asked her for anything related to cases. I am asking the auditing team at the Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office to conduct an audit of how many and what types of reports I have submitted to the Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office, as well as how many cases I have been a defense attorney in over the past four years and how the proceedings have developed. I claim that if one is carried out, you will all be able to see for yourself that my success rate is not “110 percent” as Kalamaris claims, but sometimes more modest. You will draw your own conclusions about how much “I influence the PSA” . Apart from that, I am asking you, in the incessant media appearances of the mentioned persons, to ask them the question, exactly where and when they had a meeting with me, as well as when I made the statements that I was in some kind of relationship with Nevena Zartova?
On the occasion of the cases with Anastasios Dikos and Joakim Kalamaris, it must be said that four commercial cases have been filed by them and/or their related companies with my participation, as well as two criminal proceedings, one of which is the one commented on by the two. I repeat again that I have never commented with Nevena Zartova on the proceedings in question, nor on any other. I have not been married to her either, and Mr. Calamaris is probably confusing me with one of his lawyers who was married to the SGP prosecutor who initially confirmed the appeals and later revoked them. The question is also interesting, is this lawyer not engaged precisely in this interval – between confirmation and cancellation? An interesting question is also why the decrees in question are not provided to me despite an express request for more than a month and a half?

We remind you that in an interview with “24 Chasa” Anastasios Dikos, representative in Bulgaria of the investor John Koustas, stated that lawyer Velimir Atanasov had an emotional relationship with the head of the Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office Nevena Zartova and was in a close relationship with Martin Bojanov-Notary.
“They charged me, Prof. Kalamaris and the architect with fraud on a particularly large scale. We were banned from leaving the country. BGN 100,000 bail for me, BGN 50,000 bail for Prof. Kalamaris and BGN 100,000 bail for the architect . Of course, the signal about this fraud comes from Velimir Atanasov. The case is being conducted in the district prosecutor’s office, which is headed by Zartova, who is in a love relationship with Velimir Atanasov. They simply control the district prosecutor’s office,” Dikos told “24 Chasa” .
