“Xenia, are you a funny person?” Heidi Klum wants to know from the candidate when she introduces herself at the casting of “Germany’s Next Top Model” 2024. “I’m incredibly funny,” replies the 23-year-old with a laugh.
A little later, however, Xenia’s serious side emerges. “My self-esteem was never really high because I always had friends who put me down a bit and kept me down,” reveals the young woman from Hof. “Probably because you’re so pretty,” Heidi tries to explain the behavior of those around Xenia.
The top model candidate describes what her experiences in her youth did to her: “I’ve stayed at that level, even now. I think to myself: Everyone is so beautiful and I’m not. Why should I make it?”

Xenia hopes to change her doubtful attitude by taking part in “Germany’s Next Top Model”. “I think with such small steps and especially with GNTM and you at my side,” she says to the world star sitting directly across from her, “perhaps things would get better and my self-confidence would be strengthened.”

“I’m rather shy at first,” explains Xenia. However, that changes as soon as she gets to know people better. “I then start to say kind of stupid things, or I’m just funny. That’s how I think my friends would describe me.”

Her humorous nature is very useful in the career path that Xenia has chosen so far. The young woman from Hof is training to become a special education teacher.
But even in the fashion industry, a good dose of self-irony can’t hurt.

When Xenia almost threatens to slip off her seat during the interview, this brings another character trait to her. “I’m very clumsy,” she says. The fact that little mishaps keep happening to her is a bit annoying.

Xenia, who has had a boyfriend for several months, hopes that her time on “Germany’s Next Top Model” will noticeably increase her self-confidence.
“I think that with the support of Heidi and also with this confirmation that I would get if I got further and further, something could perhaps be triggered in me that says: ‘Hey Xenia, you’re good!'”
