Artificial intelligence continues to advance by leaps and bounds – while text-based artificial intelligence models, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Bard-Gemini, or Anthropic’s Cloud, continue to employ millions of people around the world who are just beginning to understand the scope of uses that those models have, it turns out that the companies did not abandon the visual generative models, and last night OpenAI presented their model.
The model is called SORA, and it works in a similar way to photo-creating bots like DALL-E or Midjourney, except that here the model doesn’t create a still image from the text you give it, it creates a video, and some of the videos look so realistic that if we didn’t tell you they probably weren’t real You wouldn’t know.
So as mentioned, the model is not yet available to the general public, probably mainly for reasons that the company’s servers will not be able to withstand a heavy load yet. Unlike text, a model that produces visual information at such a level needs much more computing power and memory, so it may even be that in the future access to it will be limited or paid for.
And yet, in the day since the model was revealed to the world, the community is shocked at the same time as it is afraid – on the one hand the progress that this technology has made in just one year is tremendous, but on the other hand there are many people who are worried about this progress.
