The Colombian Beach Soccer Team made its debut in the Beach Soccer World Cup facing the world runner-up, Japan.
He match, directed by strategist Santiago Alzate, showed a combative Colombian team that managed to score twice through the feet of Rafael Acosta, from the penalty spot, and Julio Pantoja during the third period.
According to statistics provided by FIFA, the national team had a 60% scoring opportunity compared to 40% for the Japanese team. However, despite the efforts of the Colombians, Japan managed to score three goals and took the victory.
Now, the Colombian National Team is preparing for their next matchup against Senegal on February 18 at 10:30 am (COL time). The team’s initial lineup was made up of Alejandro Quintero (A), Eduardo López, Rafael Acosta, Julio Pantoja and Juan Fernando Ossa.

This Beach Soccer World Cup marks a historic milestone for the Colombian Football Federation, and those led by Santiago Alzate are determined to get back on track in the next matches. On Sunday, they will face Senegal, while on Tuesday, February 20, they will face Belarus, both matches will be at 10:30 am and 6:20 am Colombian time, respectively.
