After a month of attentive care at the Laquintinie hospital in Douala, the first quadruplets (three girls and a boy) born this year in Cameroon finally left the maternity ward this Wednesday, February 14, to the delight of their parents. Update on this extraordinary birth.

Baby surprise for parents! On January 16, a woman gave birth quadruplets at Laquintinie hospital in Douala, just a few minutes apart, by cesarean section. A first for 2024 in Cameroon!

THE multiple births remain rare, even more so when it comes to quadruplets. According to gynecologist Dr Pierre Kamga: “ This is a small medical feat achieved thanks to the remarkable work of our entire maternity team » he congratulates himself.

Optimal care from baby to mother

After this medical tour de force, the management of the Laquintinie hospital and its staff pulled out all the stops to ensure a follow-up and complete care for the young mother and her 4 newborns (3 girls and 1 boy).

State-of-the-art medical and paramedical supervision, secure environment, diaper and clothing donations, psychological support: everything has been orchestrated to guarantee the best start for these surprise babies of 2024!

Particular attention was also paid to the mother so that she recover as best as possible and manage this upheaval suddenly with 4 little ones.

Returning home after 1 month in neonatology

For a month, the little quadruplets progressed day by day in perfect health, supervised by the dedicated intensive care and neonatology team at the largest hospital in Cameroon.

After all this loving care, the result is here: this February 14, the mother was finally able to return home with her 4 treasuresto begin this new chapter.
