The categorical assurance that there is absolutely no problem regarding the quality of water in the Ampelochori Community is provided by the Municipality of North Tzoumerko, on the occasion of repeated complaints about the water supply network, coming – as it states – from a single person, which even reached the Parliament after submitting a report by KKE MPs to the Minister of the Interior.

This is certified, as stated in a press release, both by the results of microbiological and chemical analyses, after sampling regularly carried out by the Municipality of Northern Tzoumerka, and by an analysis carried out by the Chemical Service of Epirus and Western Macedonia on a sample received by the Department of Environmental Health and Health Control of the Directorate of Public Health of the Regional Unit of Ioannina.
The Municipality of Northern Tzoumerko has responded in writing, sending results with parametric values, which meet the requirements of the existing legislation regarding the quality of water for human consumption. Also, competent employees of the Directorate of Public Health went on January 24, 2024 to Ampelohori, in order to carry out sampling of drinking water from the water supply network, with the complainant refusing to be sampled from his home. Finally, a sample was taken from a village shop, which was found to be normal.
“After the foregoing, we are frankly surprised at the ease with which a parliamentary party and its local representatives insist on repeating a demonstrably unfounded complaint, submitting as a reference to the Home Secretary the letter of a single resident, which has been duly answered. We are also surprised by the choice to refer to the “village of Tzoumerka”, defaming an entire region, which bases its sustainability and development perspective on its virgin nature and its untouched resources”, emphasizes the Municipality of North Tzoumerka, expressing the hope to put an end to the defamation of the region and “some will think that it is not possible in the effort to serve their party goals to jeopardize years of efforts”.
