The first season of the popular Cuban television series “Tras la piedra†is available as part of the catalog of the Movistar + streaming platform.

According to the description on said platform, it is a “Cuban police series in the purest style of the American saga ‘CSI’, although with scripts based on real crimes.”

Furthermore, they indicate that under this premise, “the audience has turned to the national production that is broadcast in prime time and which is one of the most modern on Cuban television.”

Regarding the themes, Movistar + exemplified that “some of the most successful episodes were about the trafficking of Cubans to travel illegally to the United States in boats and the murder in 2002 of a family on the outskirts of Havana.

Likewise, it expands that topics such as car thefts, assaults on companies or falsification of documents are also discussed.

In general terms, the teleserye is described as material where “an experienced investigation team from the Cuban Criminalistics System faces violence and deception. Men and women with scientific knowledge and great intelligence who respond to complicated cases.

“Following the Trace†is produced by the Taíno Studies, of the Cuban Ministry of the Interior (Minint), so one might wonder what the negotiations were like for the program to reach the aforementioned platform and how much the country (or the Minint) for its audiovisual rights.

After several seasons enjoying great acceptance by the island’s public, last November it became known that a new police episode was being filmed, which would feature the performance of the emblematic Paula Alí and Massiel Dueñas and which would be premiered in its end-of-year season.

In addition to the aforementioned actresses, other actors such as Daniel García, Camila Montes de Oca and Sindy Rosario González participate in the delivery.

Previously, the last installment of the audiovisual proposal had been broadcast in August 2023 as part of the summer programming. The space broadcast three episodes of the series “Libre Cambio”, written by Eduardo V. Consuegra and directed by Nohemí Cartaya. They focused on scams related to currency exchanges, one of the most controversial issues on the island at this time.
