Tennis Football Iraq participates in the Gulf Championship

/ The Iraqi Football Tennis Federation announced, on Monday, Iraq’s participation in the Gulf Championship, which will be hosted by the UAE, while setting the start date for the game’s league competitions.

Federation President Safaa Sahib told Agency that the Iraqi national team will participate in the Gulf Netball Championship, which will be hosted by the United Arab Emirates on the eighth of next March.

He pointed out that the Iraqi league competitions for the game will begin on February 16, and the tournament will be based on a grouping system for the teams participating in it, indicating that the league will be an opportunity for the team’s technical staff to discover new players to represent Iraq in future external competitions.

The Iraqi under-21 tennis team won second place in the doubles event, third in the triples event, and fifth in the singles event, in the World Championship competitions that took place in the Czech city of Brno in November 2023.
