A number of immovable cultural properties in Agdam will be taken under state protection.
As Day.Az reported on Thursday with reference to the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, a regular meeting of the Expert Council on the identification of immovable cultural property under the Ministry of Culture was held.
Speaking at the meeting, the head of the State Service for the Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, Sabina Hajiyeva, brought to the attention of those present the issues on the agenda. She noted that at today’s meeting, 95 objects that are monuments of history, architecture and decorative arts across the country are being presented for discussion by council members with a view to taking appropriate steps to include them in the list of immovable historical and cultural monuments.
Chairman of the Expert Council, Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Professor Gulchohra Mammadova spoke about the objects put up for discussion that have signs of history, architecture and decorative arts. She noted that objects of cultural heritage value discussed for inclusion in the corresponding list are located in the territories of the country liberated from occupation and in the city of Baku.
Then comments and suggestions from council members on the issues discussed were heard.
By unanimous decision of the council members, the objects identified as a result of monitoring and inventory carried out by the Civil Service in the territories of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation were first discussed.
Members of the council considered it expedient to take appropriate steps to take under state protection the mausoleums located in the villages of Alimadatli, Boyakhmedli, Gyzyl Kengerli, Eyvazkhanbeyli of the Agdam region, the bridge located in the village of Kengerli, mosques located in the villages of Shahbulag, Abdal and Gyulably, bathhouses located in the city of Agdam and the village of Gyulably.
It should be noted that the Expert Council was established in order to make appropriate additions and changes to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan dated August 2, 2001 No. 132 “On approval of the distribution by degree of significance of immovable historical and cultural monuments taken under state protection on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
The Expert Council includes representatives of the Ministry of Culture, the State Service for the Protection, Development and Restoration of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture, the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, the Main Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of the City of Baku, the Executive Power of the City of Baku, the State Service for Property Issues under the Ministry of Economy , State Tourism Agency, Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Union of Architects of Azerbaijan, Institute of Archeology and Anthropology of ANAS, Office of the State Historical and Architectural Reserve “Icherisheher”, Office of the State Reserve of the City of Shusha and the Ministry of Culture of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
