On February 16, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, within the framework of the Munich Security Conference, met with US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O’Brien.

As Day.Az reported on Saturday, this was reported in a publication on the page of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on the social network X.

According to the information, during the meeting, issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda between the two countries were discussed, as well as prospects for the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia on a bilateral basis.

“Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that Armenia’s provocation, which led to the injury of an Azerbaijani soldier as a result of a sniper shot without any motivating factors after five months of stability, is aimed at striking a blow at the peace process.

Along with this, the unacceptability of the large-scale abuse of the European Union mission in Armenia as a means of anti-Azerbaijani propaganda, their “binocular diplomacy”, contrary to their stated goals, such as promoting regional stability, as well as building trust between Azerbaijan and Armenia, was noted.

Regarding the draft peace agreement, the existing claims against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country in the legislative acts and constitution of Armenia, international organizations and courts were once again mentioned, and the importance of abandoning these claims was emphasized.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest,” the publication notes.
