The vice president of Ideology of the ARENA party, Ernesto Muyshondt “applauded” the decision of the former president of the Republic, Mauricio Funes, to desist from the lawsuits against him and the ARENA members Roberto d’Aubuisson and Ana Vilma de Escobar, who was already overruled by the Legislative Assembly.
In a statement, the former president reported that he was giving up the judicial processes for the good of the country. He added that he “forgives the wrongs” committed against him, his family and the FMLN.
Muyshondt replied: I believe that there is nothing to forgive us for and nothing to apologize for. What we did was express doubts about the versions of the incident with the Ferrari, we have not caused any grievance.
In February of this year, the ARENA party linked former President Funes with a traffic accident that occurred in the Másferrer roundabout.
That same day, the former ruler underwent surgery for an injury to his hip after falling at his home, according to the official version.
On the other hand, the leader called on the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) to investigate Funes for the alleged delivery of diplomatic passports, as revealed by a journalistic investigation.
