During the night of Friday and early Saturday morning, several people were detained under this charge by agents of the National Civil Police, who installed one of these fences together with the Vice Ministry of Transportation (VMT) in the Zona Rosa sector, in the municipality. of San Salvador.
During the development of this anti-doping control fence, the general director of Transportation, Alfredo Alvayero, verified the different devices and highlighted that a notable change in the population’s attitude has been identified, by avoiding driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages.
“We are at this time of the morning with preventive actions on the different roads throughout the national territory, we always seek to prevent accidents and provide road safety. This is part of the effort we are making as a government and is framed in our national safety plan. road,” said Alvayero.
During the operation carried out between Friday night and this morning, 15 dangerous drivers were taken off the road at different anti-doping control points installed nationwide. In total, 821 breathalyzer tests were carried out and 31 fines were imposed.
There were three anti-doping controls installed in this fence, located at strategic points so that drivers could not evade them. This sector is home to great nightlife, including restaurants and bars.
The implementation of the anti-doping fence strategy by the Government contributed to closing 2023 with more than 1,800 dangerous drivers detained, 29% more than those detained during all of 2022.
