An occasion for an exchange of views about the engineering profession and the prospects for the next day will be the annual event for the cutting of the New Year’s pie, held by the Steering Committee of the Epirus Department of the Technical Chamber of Greece tomorrow Friday, at 8.30 in the evening, at “Epirus Palace” hotel.
Unlike other seasons, problems are not at the forefront of interest, with engineers having a good time, which is mainly due to the increase in their work item. This was emphasized by the president of the TEE/TH Yiannis Tsigros, saying that, thanks to the initiatives of the president of the TEE Giorgos Stassinos, engineers have a role in a series of administrative acts, such as the Building Identities, the arbitrary ones, the electronic permits, the “Save” and, lastly, the seismic control studies.
In this context, the TEE/TH continues its effort to inform its members, with another meeting scheduled for Wednesday, February 7. The conference, which will take place at 12 noon in the event hall of the TEE/TH (Aravantinou 6-8) has the theme “Pre-Earthquake Control Engineers for the urgent pre-earthquake control of public buildings”. Speakers will be dr. civil engineers Vassilios Bardakis on the subject of primary control (registration of engineers in the Register of Auditors, carrying out control and recording of results) and Dimitrios Baros on the subject of secondary seismic control of buildings (methodology and theoretical background).
