US President Joe Biden telephoned his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky today to assure him of Washington’s support for Kiev against the Russian invasion, Reuters reported.
The agency cited a White House statement. It also says that Biden emphasized the need for the approval of the bill for additional assistance to Ukraine as soon as possible by the lower house of the US Congress – the House of Representatives.
In turn, Zelensky, who in the German city of Munich met with US Vice President Kamala Harris within the framework of the ongoing international security conference there, said that he had a telephone conversation with Biden.
During the conversation between the two, the Ukrainian head of state expressed hope that the US Congress will make a “wise decision” and approve the delayed aid package for Kyiv, BTA writes.
“We discussed the current situation on the battlefield. I am grateful to President Biden for his full support,” Zelensky also wrote on the X social platform.
