With the screening of the film “Between the walls” (The Class, 2008, 128′) by Laurent Cante, the cinematographic tribute of the “Exauda” Artistic Association is completed in the School Hall.

François and his fellow teachers prepare for the new school year at the high school in a tough, working-class neighborhood. Armed with the best of intentions, they do not shy away from difficult working conditions and will try their best to impart knowledge to their students. Cultures and attitudes clash in the classroom, in a microcosm that represents France today. Students are fun but also difficult. This can undermine the enthusiasm of low-paid teachers. Francois insists on maintaining an atmosphere of respect and dignity in the classroom. He rejects seriousness and authoritarianism. He is extremely honest and this is unheard of for students. But there comes a time when the principles he has imposed on his class are tested when a student questions his methods.
Starring Francois Bégodot. The film won the Palme d’Or at the 61st Cannes Film Festival and was also nominated for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.
“Between the walls” will be shown on Sunday 11 and Monday 12 February, at 8 pm, at her theater (Kountouriotou 31). Financial aid 2 euros.
