On February 29, a concert dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninov will be held at the Chamber and Organ Music Hall of the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic named after Muslim Magomayev, Day.Az reports.
Islama Abdullayeva (soprano) and Fagan Hasanli (piano) will perform at the concert. The program will feature works by Sergei Rachmaninoff.
Let us note that Islama Abdullayeva is known for her excellent performance of works by both domestic and foreign composers. She recorded the albums “Azerbaijani music” (2020), “Stabat Mater” (2024), as well as “1109” (2022), including compositions based on poems by Mikail Mushfig.
Islama Abdullayeva successfully performed the role of Clotilde in Vincenzo Bellini’s opera “Norma” (debut production in Azerbaijan, 2019). In 2021, Abdullaeva took part in the VI International Vocal Competition named after Muslim Magomayev in Moscow. Her performance attracted the attention of the jury, leaving a good impression, surprising her with her versatility and professionalism.
Fagan Hasanli graduated from the piano department of the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli (class of Professor Tarlan Seyidov). Hasanli is the winner of the Grand Prix of the piano competition in Baku. The musician is also a winner and laureate of international competitions held in Georgia and Bulgaria. Over the years, he has performed as a soloist and accompanist at competitions, festivals, conferences in the USA, Russia, Turkey, Israel, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Estonia, Bulgaria and other countries.
In 2019, Fagan Hasanly performed with world-famous pianist Yefim Bronfman at a concert held in Baku as part of the International Mstislav Rostropovich Festival. In 2022, Hasanli performed as a soloist, and for the first time as a conductor, with the Hungarian Chamber Orchestra.
