On February 10, a concert by Steve Barakatt took place at the Heydar Aliyev Center as part of the “Neorealism” world tour.

As Day.Az reports, his concert consisted of two parts. The program included compositions from Barakatt’s latest album, as well as favorite works from previous years.

Musician, composer and producer Steve Barakatt, born in 1973 in the Canadian city of Quebec into a Lebanese family, performs both classical music and jazz.

Steve Barakatt is not only a musician, but also a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Children’s Fund – UNICEF.

The musician is the author of the UNICEF anthem “Laylay”. One of the notable points is that this anthem was also voiced in space, and a video clip was made for the anthem about children’s rights. The musician performed the same song at the Baku concert.

During the concert, S. Barakatt shared his impressions with the audience, said that he was in Azerbaijan for the first time, and was glad to perform his favorite works in front of his fans.

Award-winning composer, pianist, music producer and creative director Steve Barakatt has collaborated on hundreds of projects around the world with renowned artists, record labels, organizations and the world’s leading orchestras. In 2020, he was awarded the title of Knight of the National Order of Quebec by the Prime Minister of Quebec.
