To mark its three years of existence in the media landscape, the online agency Hebdo24 is launching a dictation competition.

The online newspaper Hebdo24 is celebrating its three years of existence in the Haitian media landscape this year. To mark the event, Phanord Cabé, head of this agency, launched a dictation competition for young people aged 18 to 25 who live in the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince. During an interview with Juno7, he explained the reasons which prompted him to carry out this competition which aims to promote writing skills.

“The idea emerged from the desire to mark the newspaper’s anniversary in a meaningful way. It also aims to promote writing to help improve the spelling of young people. The ultimate objective of this dictation competition is to promote the writing skills of young people aged 18 to 25 living in Port-au-Prince,” declared Phanord Cabé.

Indeed, the competition will take place at the premises of the Institut Francophone de Journalisme (IFJ) on February 22. Phanord Cabé took advantage of this interview to explain how the competition will take place. “The competition will be held on February 22 at the Institut Francophone de Journalisme, in Delmas 43. Reproducing the atmosphere of a classroom, a master of ceremonies will read the text, and the participants will write their answers. Two qualified proofreaders will be present to correct the papers, and the results will be communicated the same day, adding a dose of suspense to this memorable day.”

Furthermore, those who wish to participate can scan a QR code accessible on Android or iPhone. “The QR code is published on a flyer distributed on social networks, offering a modern and accessible registration method to reach a wide audience,” underlined the head of the online agency Hebdo24.

The winner of this competition will receive 50,000 gourdes, the second winner will leave with 25,000 gourdes. The third prize will be 15,000 gourdes.

Phanord Cabé stressed that this Hebdo24 Dictation Competition promises an educational and entertaining experience, highlighting the importance of writing by celebrating three years of journalistic success. “We encourage all young people in Port-au-Prince to participate and make this event an unforgettable moment in their educational journey,” he concluded.
