They told his mother he was gone from “sudden death syndrome”

Two officers from the Russian intelligence service (FSB) visited the penal colony where Alexei Navalny was held just two days before his death, the human rights group gulagu.net claimed, as quoted by Western media.

Allegedly, they are

excluded part from the cameras for video surveillance

and recording in IK-3 – “Polar Wolf”. The site also states that the visit was even mentioned in a report by the Department of Corrections. Although gulagu.net’s information could not be verified, the organization was the first to reveal information about Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin when it was alleged that he was recruiting people for the war from Russian prisons.

The death of the staunchest critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin, to put it mildly, shook the entire international community on Friday. The 47-year-old Navalny died a month before the presidential elections in the country and about 2,000 km from Moscow in IK-3 – a colony with harsh conditions, a successor to the Gulag. According to the Yamalo-Nenets District Prison Service, he lost consciousness after a walk. The medics who went to the scene resuscitated Navalny for 30 minutes, but without success. Just a day before his death, he was seen in good spirits during a video link in court. A number of leaders have called for transparency in the investigation and have openly accused Putin of being responsible for Navalny’s death.

Against the background of a bunch of theories about what happened to Navalny, on Saturday, the mother of the oppositionist Lyudmila Navalnaya, as well as his lawyer Vasily Dubkov, arrived in Harp next to “Polar Wolf” to identify the body.

Lyudmila was told by the prison that her son had died of “sudden death syndrome”. From there she and Dubkov

were sent to the morgue to Salekhard,

where the body of the 47-year-old oppositionist was transported at the request of the investigators. At least that’s what the prison said. However, when they arrived, the morgue was closed. Dubkov called the number and during a conversation with a worker at the morgue he told him that the body was not with them. Dubkov was also told that he was the seventh person to call about this.

Another of Navalny’s lawyers was told by the local branch of the coroner’s office that the cause of death had not yet been “determined” and therefore his body could not be returned to the family until the investigation was completed. A little earlier, however, other officials from the office indicated that the investigation was over and “no criminal activity was detected.”

Meanwhile, in its Telegram channel, the publication “Astra” stated that it had contacted representatives of the bureau of forensic medical expertise at Salekhard, and from there they stated that they did not receive any deceased from the penal colony, and forwarded them to the investigative committee. A source of “Novaya Gazeta Evropa” pointed out that indeed Navalny’s body has been in the morgue of the district hospital in Salekhard since Friday evening, but an autopsy has not yet been performed. According to a paramedic, there were bruises on the corpse, typical of a seizure or CPR.

From “Meduza” they write that

two small ones the planes are Did you arrive from Moscow

in Salekhard on Saturday. It is claimed that these may be specialists who will perform Navalny’s autopsy.

According to Eva Levenberg, coordinator of criminal cases at OVD-Info, a Russian media project that fights political persecution, due to the investigative committee’s procedural review, Navalny’s family may not see his body for a month, if not longer. From there, they also indicated that “the case is more complicated – in addition to the inspection, there is also an investigation, and within its framework, the decision to release the body is made only by the body that carries out the inspection. It can be longer than 30 days”.

“The rules of the law have never worked against Navalny. The court, the prosecutor’s office, the investigation – they have always distorted the law in their own interest. And they had only one such – to isolate Navalny and torture him. This continues even after his death”, the OVD were categorical. From there, they called for the oppositionist’s body to be returned to his family immediately.

According to close critics of Putin, the Russian authorities are “obviously trying to cover up the evidence” and “that’s why they are hiding Navalny’s body”.

Sources of the Service for the Execution of Punishments (FSIN) told “New Europe” that it is currently being decided where to conduct Navalny’s autopsy. According to one of them, if this happens in Harp or Salekhard, then the service has something to hide. “If FSIN is not involved in the death of Navalny, it is more profitable to carry out all possible examinations”, commented the source, and according to him, if this is the case, then the mortal remains will be moved to Moscow. However, if FSIN is involved and

wants to “cover up follow yourself”,

he adds, the body “will probably be taken to Salekhard, where there is a crematorium. They will do an autopsy and destroy him immediately.”

With the news of Navalny’s death, residents of a number of cities in Russia took to the streets to honor his memory. This led to the detention of more than 400 people in more than 36 cities, including Moscow, St. Petersburg and Belgorod. In Europe and the USA there were demonstrations against the rule of Vladimir Putin.
