After… the holiday, the debate on the right to marry for same-sex couples and to have children will take place in the municipal council, as it is now a law of the state.
However, the president of the municipal council chose to put the issue on the agenda of Monday’s meeting, something the mayor had committed to, responding negatively to the proposal of the head of the “Independent Municipal Vanguard” Nikos Gonda for the issuance of a resolution, saying that there is not going to be an agreement between the factions.
The agenda of Monday’s meeting includes a total of 34 issues, with the interest being found in the appointment of the members who will make up the boards of directors of the Municipal Radio, DIPETHE Ioannina and DIANETAI, while the body will be asked to decide on the preservation or not of the school committees of primary and secondary education, with the recommendation being in favor of their retention.
The agenda also includes the appointment of members for the formation of the Traffic Matters Committee, the determination of fees in public areas for 2024 and thereafter, the imposition of fees and cemetery fees, the right of entry for the concession and operation of municipal spaces of cultural interest, the determination of public space fees from outdoor commercial activities and the validation of the decisions of the Municipal Committee for the annual contribution of members to KAPI, the infant and toddler schools and the tuition fees of the educational departments of the abolished Non-profit Enterprise Culture, Environment, Youth and Sports.
Finally, the plan will be amended, regarding the conclusion of inter-municipal cooperation contracts for the administrative support of the Construction Service.
