The athletes of the “Ruse” Weightlifting Club, who returned from the European Weightlifting Championship, which took place a few days ago in Sofia, were welcomed in the hall of the “Yalta” Sports Complex. Angel Rusev, Dzhan Zarkov, Nadezhda – May Nguyen and their coaches Krastina and Radoslav Atanasovi were honored for their successes at the sports forum, which included one gold and two bronze medals, as well as the excellent performance of Reni Ruseva. The event was also attended by the deputy mayor of Ruse, Encho Enchev.

“We are proud that you glorify our city not only within the borders of the country, but also beyond it. The municipality of Ruse is grateful for the professional work of both our sports hopefuls and their coaches, who guide them in every step towards glory,” said the deputy mayor.

He also thanked the chairman of the Board of Directors of TSK “Ruse”, Prof. Dr. Kiril Panayotov, MD, for the care of the sports club and the conditions he creates so that the athletes can develop in the best possible way.

We remind you that at the European Weightlifting Championship, Angel Rusev won his fourth championship title in a row. Although with shoulder pain, the Russian man did not give up and triumphed with a total weight of 244 kg.
Dzhan Zarkov won his bronze medal with a fight of 235 kilograms – 102 in the throw and 133 in the push.
Nadezhda – May Nguyen also won bronze at the start of the European Championships in Sofia.

The young weightlifter from TSK “Ruse” competed in the category up to 45 kg. Her teammate Reni Ruseva also performed well in group B in the category up to 49 kg. She recorded a successful attempt at 60 kg in the throw and 80 kg in the push.
