The Minister of Education and Science Prof. Galin Tsokov and history teachers from Sofia schools laid flowers in front of Vasil Levski’s monument. Vanya Kastreva, the head of the RUO-Sofia, joined the initiative, the press center of the ministry announced.
“Modern education can only be built on the basis of traditions, and the most important thing for children is example. That’s why personalities like Levski are of great importance in every stage of their education and upbringing”, emphasized Prof. Tsokov.
According to him, by celebrating this day together with Bulgarian teachers, a signal is also given to the entire system. “Teachers strengthen the love for the Motherland and our country in adolescents, and historians have a special place in this process. That’s why it was an honor for me today, together with some of them, to pay tribute to the memory of the Apostle of Freedom, who was also a teacher,” said Prof. Tsokov.
Teachers from 15 Sofia schools participated in today’s initiative, and throughout the day children and students from various educational institutions offer flowers in memory of Vasil Levski.
