The ICC presented to the federations administering Olympic sports the new forms of reporting with the aim of greater transparency in the use of public resources for sports. The obligation is laid down in the contracts for 2024, which the centers signed with the MMC to receive financial support for the programs for Olympic preparation and for the development of sports for high achievements in Olympic sports.
The new reporting forms provide for the provision of information to the ministry on the funds spent on the preparation and recovery of the athletes, on the state and international sports calendar, on the material and technical provision, rents and organizational costs. The database will be reported every three months by the end of the month following the reporting period. An important point is that the information will be published both on the websites of the sports federations and on the MMC website. In this way, an increase in transparency and a strengthening of control over the use of state funds is expected.
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Dimitar Iliev, and his deputy, Prof. Daniela Dasheva, expressed confidence that the new forms of accountability will be beneficial for both the federations and the MMC, which will favor the work of providing increasingly better conditions for the training of athletes us.
