Oil prices fell slightly on Tuesday morning.

As Day.Az reports with reference to Interfax, April futures for Brent fell in price on the London ICE Futures exchange by 9 cents, to $83.47 per barrel. On Monday, Brent rose 9 cents to $83.56 per barrel.

By this time, April futures for WTI fell in price on the New York Mercantile Exchange NYMEX by 10 cents, to $78.36 per barrel. The day before, WTI trading was not held due to a public holiday in the United States.

Traders are monitoring the situation in the Middle East. On Monday, the Houthis reported an attack on the British ship Rubymar in the Gulf of Aden, as a result of which the crew was forced to abandon the ship, and later shelling of two more American ships off the coast of Yemen.

“The market is now taking a wait-and-see approach,” wrote Rob Thummel, senior portfolio manager at Tortoise Capital Advisors. “Traders are now waiting for the outcome of the next OPEC+ meeting.”

OPEC+ countries will hold a meeting in early March. Earlier, Iraq, the cartel’s second-largest oil producer, promised to improve compliance with the terms of the deal to cut production.
