Like every year, at the beginning of the Lenten season, the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires prepares its traditional Archdiocesan Solidarity Gest campaign, which consists of penances and offerings for the brothers who need it most.
On this occasion, the proceeds will go to the kitchen and parish dining room of Nuestra Señora de Luján Porteño; the multipurpose room of the Nuestra Señora de los Milagros de Caacupé chapel, in Villa Rodrigo Bueno; the dining room, showers and bathrooms of the social service of the San Cayetano de Liniers Sanctuary; and the equipment of the new Cáritas headquarters of the Cristo Obrero parish, in Villa 31.
In his message for Lent 2024, Pope Francis suggested that, within the framework of the synodal path, “Lent is also a time of community decisions, of small and large decisions against the current, capable of changing the daily lives of people and the life of a neighborhood: shopping habits, care for Creation, inclusion of the invisible or the despised.”
