The current Olympic medalists were sworn in as army reserve officers, in a ceremony held under the watchful eye of the Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, and the Deputy Minister of Sports, Yannis Vroutsis.

Under the watchful eye of the Minister of National Defence, Nikos Dendias, and the Deputy Minister of Sports, Yiannis Vroutsis, the swearing-in of active Olympians as reserve officers took place at the Armed Forces Officers’ Club (LAED).

Among the honored persons were: Miltos Tendoglou (he chose the navy, as he had revealed to SPORT24 and Maria Kaoukis), Lefteris Petrounias (he chose the army), Stefanos Duskos (he chose the army), Pavlos Kayalis, Sofia Papadopoulou and the men’s national polo team, with its captain, Yiannis Fundoulis, choosing the navy.
