Europe should think more about armaments. It cannot build a defense on its own, so it is good to invest in transatlantic relations. This is what Yordan Bozhilov, chairman of the Sofia Security Forum and former Deputy Minister of Defense, told NOVA.
“There are several key processes related to security in Europe. Before the invasion of Ukraine, most European leaders thought that the power of the economy could prevent wars. That thinking is gone. It is clear to all of us that we must be prepared for potential conflict. That’s exactly what Finland and Sweden did, who quickly asked to become NATO members, because it provides security,” explained Bozhilov.
However, he did not rule out NATO countries being drawn into the conflict. According to him, unfortunately, Bulgaria is delaying the modernization and acquisition of new weapons.
Regarding the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, Bozhilov clarified that it is quite possible that his wife will continue his case.
