The senior executives of the Ministry of Justice, the administrative staff of the Rutana province as well as the detainees warmly welcomed him and on their faces there was a glimmer of hope opening up to them.
Mr Olivier NIBITANGA, Governor of the Rutana Province, in his welcoming remarks, indicated that the inhabitants of his province are tackling development work without any worries, as demonstrated by the provincial office built on the upper floor since 2020 which, today Today is in the finishing phase.
The Attorney General of the Republic, Mr Léonard MANIRAKIZA, revealed the criteria on the basis of which the choice of detainees for release was made. These include those who have already served their sentence but have not yet paid the fine imposed on them, those who have served a quarter of their sentence and those whose cases are still being executed.
The Father of the Nation, always concerned about the well-being of his people, provided various advice to these prisoners, released after careful analysis of their files by a national commission created to implement the will of the Head of State.
The President of the Republic, in his advice, returned to the texts of the constitution of Burundi explaining the role of every citizen, who must, among other things, respect their loved ones, their property and the regulatory framework of the country.
He did not fail to tell them about the multiple riches that Burundi abounds to encourage them to love their homeland, to come together with others as soon as they leave to make Burundi an emerging country in 2040 and developed in 2060.
While congratulating the Ministry of Justice for having worked diligently to achieve its wishes so quickly, the Head of State also appealed to the Burundian population in general to now have confidence in the Burundian legal institution and properly welcome, without prejudice or bitterness, these citizens who return to their respective families after their detention.
