Lt. Col. Alon Avitar, an expert on the Palestinian scene, was a guest on News 12 today (Thursday) and commented on the deadly terrorist attack this morning on Route 1 near Teme Adumim.

The chilling calls to the MDA after the attack: “There are people shot all along the way”

“The terrorists came from an area called Ta’amra, it’s east of Gush Etzion, a desert area, partly a nature reserve, No Man’s Land, there’s practically no Israeli presence there except for a few settlements nearby. It’s very easy to get there and collect weapons, organize, plan an attack. It’s not “An area under Israeli military control. Secondly, it is also very easy to get to Jerusalem in a partisan manner and there is no one to prevent the matter,” Avitar said.

“This is an unusual attack, a sacrificial attack in Palestinian terminology, they knew they would return home in a coffin. They planned in detail ahead of time. Hamas claims that this is a natural reaction to the ban on going to the Temple Mount,” he added.

As I recall, one man in his 20s was murdered this morning and four people were injured, two of them seriously, in a shooting attack on Route 1 Jerusalem – Ma’ale Adumim. MDA medics and paramedics provided medical treatment to the wounded at the scene. Three terrorists were killed – two at one scene and the third at another scene on the road. The wounded are a 23-year-old woman and a 30-year-old woman in serious condition, conscious, and two men in their 40s in moderate to light condition. One of the young women who were injured is pregnant, The fetus is in normal condition.
