They are putting 50 new garbage containers in the neighborhood
Two huge trucks were filled with illegally dumped waste on “Vazkhod” Street in the “Stolipinovo” district of Plovdiv. This happened during an extraordinary action by the municipal enterprise “Chistota” after a report by citizens that the space was being polluted due to the lack of containers.
The director of Chistota, Eng. Desislava Georgieva, assured that an option is being sought to place garbage containers at the specified location. This is a difficult task because the street is narrow and garbage trucks cannot enter it. Every morning, employees of the enterprise manually remove the waste.
The access of the equipment is difficult even from the large block, as it is blocked by parked vehicles. For today’s cleaning, assistance was again sought and provided by the Sixth District Office.
In addition to the daily garbage collection, teams with specialized heavy equipment for the collection of bulky waste also work in “Stolipinovo” without a day off. The extraordinary actions to clean unregulated landfills are also continuous. At the last one from the end of January, nearly 92 tons of waste were collected in just one day.
Georgieva reminded that less than a year ago, about 50 additional containers were placed in the neighborhood. Most of them are already broken or missing, and to date their numbers are once again insufficient. The organizer of “Cleanliness” for the “East” region has submitted a request for 100 new containers, half of which are again planned for “Stolipinovo”.
