Tensions on the Douala campus. A teacher has just been the victim of violence at the hands of the rector’s head of protocol, over a trivial traffic dispute. Dr Luc Nyimi Bekono recounts the ordeal suffered and intends not to stop there.
A clash that degenerates
As he was leaving the university at the wheel of his vehicle, Dr. Luc Nyimi Bekono saw another car approaching which refused him priority. The driver of the car tries to change his mind and finally gives way to him.
Slaps and threats in public
But that’s without taking into account the wrath of the rector’s head of protocol, a passenger in the vehicle. The latter violently intimidates Dr. Bekono, to the point of punching him violently in the face for no reason. Before fleeing when the teacher stops his vehicle to come and “explain”.
Complaint in preparation
In front of several witnesses to the scene, Dr. Bekono went to have his injuries noted and intends not to stop there. This humiliating attack by a superior against a professor deserves reparation according to him. And serves as a reminder, if necessary, of the sometimes tense relationships within the Cameroonian university community.
