The head of the Media and Communications Commission, Ali Al-Muayyad, announced today, Monday, the imminent launch of the number retention service project in Iraq.

The Authority stated in a statement received by the (INA), that “The Chairman of the Media and Communications Authority, Ali Al-Muayyad, met today, Monday, on the sidelines of the International Mobile Conference (MWC 2024) held in Spain, with PortingXS, the company responsible for implementing the project.” Number retention service in Iraq.

Al-Muayyad said, according to the statement, “The project is in its final stages and will be launched in the near future after overcoming some obstacles. This project will ensure that the Iraqi user maintains the same number when moving between companies operating mobile phone services in the country, thereby achieving fair competition, and will contribute to urging companies to provide the best offers.” And with high quality.”

He pointed out that “the project, which is funded by mobile phone companies, is in its final stages, as all checks have been completed and its devices, equipment and software have been installed.”

It is noteworthy that the International Mobile Conference (MWC 2024) is held annually in February in Barcelona, ​​and is considered the most prominent global event in the field of the mobile phone industry and advanced communications technology, in which senior companies, regulators and government officials from various countries of the world participate.
