Followers of Universitario de Deportes entered a Cineplanet room in San Juan de Miraflores and lit a flare during the broadcast of the documentary “Iluminados”. Given this event, the cinema chain issued a statement to inform that this documentary will no longer be broadcast.
“Given the disturbances that occurred during some of the screenings of the documentary “Iluminados”, we inform you that, in order to safeguard the safety of our clients and collaborators, the documentary will no longer be projected in our theaters,” Cineplanet said.

Subsequently, the University Sports Club distanced itself from what happened in the Cineplanet theater and described as “negligent” the behavior of the fans who lit the flare during the screening of “Iluminados.”
“We regret that an irresponsible act outside the club that occurred during the screening of the documentary “Iluminados” has endangered the integrity of the fans and workers who attended said function in San Juan de Miraflores. For this reason, we announce that the decision was made to cancel, in Cineplanet theaters, the screening of “Iluminados” during its second week, as well as its premiere in the provinces,” can be read at the beginning of the statement.
Finally, they urged followers to “adopt behaviors that do not harm the institution’s projects in a year as important as the Centennial.”
