The Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchange (DSE-CSE) ended the week’s last business day Thursday (February 29) with indices falling. However, the volume of transactions on DSE and CSE decreased compared to the previous working day. Shares of most companies and units of mutual funds fell on both the stock exchanges on the day.

According to the market review, the main index of DSE, DSEX, decreased by 14.09 points from the previous day to 6 thousand 254 points. The DSE Shariah index fell by 3.84 points to 1,359 points and the DS30 index fell by 5.82 points to 2,126 points.

A total of 396 shares and units of companies were traded on DSE. Among the companies, share and unit prices increased in 128, decreased in 204 and remained unchanged in 64.

A total of 916 crore 42 lakh shares and units were traded in DSE on this day. Shares and units worth Tk 888 crore 77 lakh were traded on the previous working day.

On the other hand, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CSCX is down 9.69 points at 10,744 points. Overall index CASPI decreased by 17.53 points to 17 thousand 928 points, Sharia index decreased by 2.18 points to 1 thousand 148 points and CSE30 index decreased by 19.54 points to 13 thousand 346 points.

On the day, shares and units of 261 companies were traded on CSE. Among the companies, share and unit prices increased for 88, decreased for 138 and unchanged for 34.

At the end of the day, shares and units of Tk 19 crore 81 lakh were traded in CSE. Shares and units worth Tk 14.49 crore were traded on the previous working day.
