On February 23, the first competitive day of the World Cup in trampoline and tumbling started at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, Day.Az reported on Friday with reference to Trend.
On the first day there will be qualifying competitions in trampolining among men and women in the individual program.
The Trampoline and Tumbling World Cup will be held at the National Gymnastics Arena from February 23 to 25. 300 gymnasts from 32 countries take part in the competition.
The World Cup in Baku serves as a qualifier for the 2024 Olympic Games for individual trampoline gymnasts.
In the trampolining competition among women, Azerbaijan is represented by Seljan Mahsudova, among men by Huseyn Abbasov, Nijat Mirzayev and Mehdi Aliyev.
Seljan Makhsudova and Mehdi Aliyev perform in the individual program, and Huseyn Abbasov and Nijat Mirzaev both in the individual and synchronized jumping programs.
The country is represented in acrobatic jumping competitions by Mikhail Malkin, Adil Hajizadeh, Tofig Aliyev, and Bilal Gurbanov.
At the World Cup in Trampoline and Tumbling, six sets of medals will be awarded. Also at the competition, the gymnasts who receive the highest score for their performance in each program will be awarded the AGF Trophy.
