Democracy stage has announced a new program to protest the police attack and increase in gas and electricity prices during the program. The organization will hold a protest rally in front of the National Press Club on Friday (March 1) at 4 pm.
On Thursday (February 29) at noon, the new program was announced at the press conference of the Democracy Forum at the office of the State Reform Movement.
The press conference was attended by – President of Nagrik Oikya Mahmudur Rahman Manna, General Secretary of Bangladesh Revolutionary Workers Party Saiful Haque, General Secretary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) Shahid Uddin Mahmud Swapan, Member Secretary of Bhasani Anusari Parishad Habibur Rahman Riju, Finance Coordinator of State Reform Movement Didarul Bhuiyan. . Abul Hasan Rubel, Executive Coordinator of Mass Solidarity Movement, presented the opening speech at the press conference.
The leaders said yesterday’s attack is a real example of how the government wants to maintain its looting reign through police repression. At this moment, the demand of people’s lives is to reduce the liquid price. The police indiscriminately attacked the rally made on that demand. They want to suppress the democratic struggle of the people by showing intimidation.
The leaders of the democracy stage said that the statement of the foreign minister about the democratic struggle of the people is a lie. He has now started talking about everything to protect the mattress of this dummy syndicate, the undemocratic government. He said that the peaceful assembly demanding reduction in the price of daily necessities was done with the intention of creating chaos. I strongly condemn this lie of the minister.
They said yesterday’s attack proves that they are so desperate to keep the looting syndicate alive. We have said many times, this government is the master of the syndicate. As a result, they are sustaining the syndicate.
The leaders also said that we want to make it clear that people’s struggle cannot be stopped by attacking and torturing them. This struggle will gain more strength and establish a democratic Bangladesh by ousting this looter government.
