After 43 days and 46 matches, the curtain came down on the tenth season of Bangladesh Premier League. BPL started on January 19 with seven teams. The final match between Comilla Victorians and Fortune Barisal ended the grand finale.
Fortune Barisal laughed the last laugh after a long journey. Comilla Victorians were looking for a hat-trick and Fortune Barisal for their first title. Barisal played the final three times before but never won the title. On the other hand, Comilla played the final four times and won the title four times. They did not have a losing record in the finals. But Barisal changed all calculations in the tenth season.
Comilla and Barisal were the two hot favorites of the tournament in strength and name. In an expected performance, Comilla became the second team to secure the playoffs. Barisal is the last to reach the last four. In the first qualifier, Comilla defeated Rangpur to reach the final.
On the other hand, Barisal beat Chittagong in the qualifier and advanced to the second qualifier. They then lost to another hot favorite Rangpur Riders in the second qualifier. They faced Comilla in the final. But Comilla could not compete in the final. Barisal showed strength in batting and bowling and won the match by 6 wickets.
