A 25-year-old Cuban, identified as Jesús Hernández and resident in the city of Miami, faces several charges for brutally attacking his mother, an elderly person, when she was driving and he was in the back seat.

According to the police report, mother and son had an argument that turned violent, and Hernández hit his mother several times, causing her injuries.

In addition, the defendant attempted to alter the evidence in the case, which adds another charge to his file.

Now, the Cuban will have to pay for his crime, and is awaiting the decision made by the Miami authorities regarding his case.

Cases of filial violence in Cuba

In recent days, other acts of violence by children against parents have been reported in Cuba with fatal consequences.

In Santiago de Cuba, a 32-year-old young man, named Frank Leonardo Galbán Guerra, suffocated his father, Leonardo Galbán, known as “El Blanco”, over a dispute over a motorcycle.

The crime occurred on Sunday night in the Quintero neighborhood. Subsequently, journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada revealed that a person who went to the house where the murder occurred was in charge of telling how the son suffocated the father because of the engine.

It turned out by then that Galbán Guerra lived with his grandmother in the Rajayoga neighborhood and used to visit his father in Quintero, but he always demanded that he give him the motorcycle, which generated the conflict that ended in tragedy.

Meanwhile, in Holguín, another young Cuban, named Maikel, killed his uncle in Mayarí, to keep his apartment and sell it.

The murder occurred on Tuesday night, February 27, with the complicity of another ex-convict, nicknamed “Bombillo.” The victim was known as “Dad Formula V,” a man with alcoholism problems.
