Divya Sathyaraj: I Have No Desire to Join Religious Party for Election Contest

by time news

Chennai: “It is true that I have received an invitation from a party to contest the upcoming elections. But I have no desire to join any party that respects any religion,” said Sathyaraj’s daughter Divya Sathyaraj.

A press release issued by him in this regard: “Hello. I had told some journalist friends that I was interested in politics. After that the questions that everyone asks me is ‘Are you joining politics to become an MP? Do you want to become a Rajya Sabha MP? Interested in a ministerial position? Will Satyaraj campaign for you?’ So many questions.

I don’t want to enter politics for office or to win elections. I think I should enter politics to work for the people. It has been a few years since I started doing fieldwork. I started an organization called ‘Happiness Movement’ three years ago.

Through that organization, nutritious food is provided free of cost to the people below the poverty line in Tamil Nadu. I am not going to start a separate party.

It is true that I have received an invitation from a party to contest the upcoming elections. But I have no desire to join any religious party.

I will announce with which party I will join after the election. As Sathyaraj’s daughter and a Tamil daughter, I will work for the welfare of Tamil Nadu,” he said.
