Kamran Mamedov’s first personal art exhibition entitled “Interpretation” opened on March 2 at the QGallery in Icherisheher.

As Day.Az reports, lovers and connoisseurs of fine art can get acquainted with the works of Kamran Mamedov until March 10. The exhibition includes more than 45 original works.

The line between professional and non-professional artists is very thin. After all, the one who expresses his views and feelings through the creation of an image is already an artist. This happened in the life of Kamran Mamedov, previously better known as an expert in the oil and gas industry, a graduate of the State Oil Academy, who has diverse international experience in Azerbaijan, West Africa and Russia. Kamran Mamedov’s interests include constant study of the history and development of art, the paths of the greatest artists, visiting museums, news from leading galleries and publications in the media. For himself, he defined clear plans to deepen his knowledge in the field of theory and philosophy of modern art. Unlike other artists who try to hide the meaning of the work “inside”, Kamran exposes it to the public.

Also, a distinctive feature of Kamran Mamedov’s work is the brightness, contrast and some roughness of the forms, which make the artist’s works recognizable. The author covers the entire canvas with a thick layer of paint, reflecting light differently depending on the texture of the stroke, the tools and techniques used, so that the viewer sees an endlessly changing picture of reflections as he moves across the canvas. Thus, the artist challenges established canons and creates his own independent style.

The subjects of Kamran Mamedov’s paintings are presented in a very unusual, original form – here are the bright colors of avant-garde, and the synergy of elements of various styles, such as expressionism, favism, naive, which constitutes a new vision of reality by the artist. Kamran not only strives to challenge the viewer’s preconceptions, but also provokes and evokes a visceral reaction. His creative process is a conscious departure from the predictable, an invitation to the viewer to abandon preconceived beliefs and venture into the uncharted territory of unconventional perspectives. Using extraordinary subjects, distorted forms and a bright palette, the artist invites the viewer to question the very nature of perception and challenge the boundaries of aesthetic normativity. The unique dramaturgy of light, complex scenery and plot in Kamran Mamedov’s paintings leave the viewer room for imagination.

The artist considers the viewer to be a full participant in the “painting act”, moving the semantic center of the work not inside the painting, but into the space between the image and the one who looks at it. By offering the viewer a picture, Kamran does not demand anything from him, leaving him the freedom of an unconditional interpreter.
