Nagpur: Prakash Ambedkar, chief of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi in Maharashtra, has said that if there is no alliance with MVA, his party will contest elections on 46 seats in the state. This statement of Ambedkar has come after the claim of Shiv Sena UBT leader Sanjay Raut in which he had said that an agreement has been reached on the seats in Mahavikas Aghadi. Earlier there was talk of giving two seats to VBA. Now Prakash Ambedkar has created a new problem for the opposition alliance by saying that he will contest on 46 seats. Last time VBA had contested elections on 47 seats.
Can win six seats
Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) chief Prakash Ambedkar has said in his statement that it can win at least six seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra and if its alliance with Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is not successful then the party will lose 46 seats. Ready to field a candidate for the seat. He also said that MVA’s two constituents Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress are currently engaged in a tussle over seat sharing. Maharashtra has 48 Lok Sabha seats, the highest after Uttar Pradesh (80).

described himself as an outsider
Speaking to the media at Ravi Bhawan in Nagpur, Ambedkar said that there is a tussle between Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress regarding seat sharing and we (VBA) are still outsiders. Our discussion will begin after he resolves this issue. However, VBA alone can win at least six Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra and if no alliance is formed, it is ready to field candidates on 46 Lok Sabha seats. He was responding to a question on the status of seat sharing talks with the MVA. Ambedkar described Nagpur Lok Sabha seat as the easiest seat provided it is fought properly. Criticizing the economic policies of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, he said that the country’s economy is on the verge of collapse.
