With an official ceremony, the renovated community center building of the “Hristo Botev-1888” community center in the village of Varbovka, Pavlikeni municipality was opened. Thanks to the funds provided by the Council of Ministers, the cultural center has a new modern look and there is no longer any danger, crumbling and falling elements of the facades, to endanger the life and health of children and adults, the municipality announced.
The mayor Eng. Emanuil Manolov, together with the mayor of the village Anton Antonov and the manager of the construction company-contractor Eng. Kiril Ivanov, officially cut the ribbon on the renovated community center building.
A constructive opinion on the need for urgent repairs was prepared in August 2022. A proposal was then submitted to the Interdepartmental Commission for Recovery and Assistance requesting funds to repair the building. The facility was financed with BGN 405,123 including VAT.
“The greatest value for every Bulgarian settlement is to have its own cultural center, where the Bulgarian spirit burns, local traditions are developed, and people of all ages are included in the arts. And that is why our ancestors created the community centers and placed them in the most representative buildings in every settlement. Thanks to the repairs that we have carried out in the past months, the village of Varbovka will continue to see a turbulent cultural life for decades to come,” said Engineer Manolov. He announced that by the end of the year, more objects will be completed in the village – the additional water supply , a sports ground in the courtyard of the “Filip Totyu” Primary School, as well as an extension of the “Colorful Dreams” Kindergarten.
Significant changes were made in the community center building. The roofs of the main building and the annex to it have mainly been repaired. The facades have been renewed, preserving the characteristic appearance of the community center as much as possible. The old wooden windows have been replaced with a system of PVC profiles and double glazing. A lightning protection installation with a receiver with anticipatory action is installed. The compromised concrete visor has been repaired.
The interior has been renovated and the amortized electrical installation has been repaired. The external side steps and pavements around the main building and the annex have been repaired.
Father Dimitar performed a water celebration for health and consecration of the renovated community center building.
The “Pavlikeni” orchestra at the “Brotherhood-1884” People’s Community Center participated in the celebration with their performances – Pavlikeni, the children from the “Colorful Dreams” Kindergarten, the students from the Bulgarian Folk Dance Group at the “Filip Totyu” Primary School, Dilyan Marinov, the graduates from the Folk Singing Class at the People’s Community Center “Brotherhood-1884” – Pavlikeni – Rumena Kancheva, Galia Staneva, Darinka Kostova, Darinka Kostova and Elka Angelova, as well as the Women’s Folk Choir for processed folklore at the People’s Community Center “Saedinenie-1879” in the village of Butovo .
