The group of boys and girls who are part of the Metropolitan Children’s Orchestra Seedbed will give their first concert this Saturday, September 27, in the auditorium of the National Museum of Anthropology.

The Ministry of Culture (SECULTURA) reported that the concert is scheduled for 2:00 pm

These kids are taught to play an instrument without having prior musical knowledge, the goal is that over time they can be part of the Metropolitan Children’s Orchestra.

The Semillero is made up of 41 boys and girls ranging in age from 3 to 10 years old. Of this group, 35 boys play the violin and 6 of them play cellos or cellos.

This project has funds from Italian cooperation through the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

They are taught with the Suzuki method, created by the Japanese violinist, educator and philosopher Shinichi Suzuki, who applied the basic principles of learning speech to music, SECULTURA reported.

Elements such as an early start, listening, repetition, group learning, parental accompaniment and postponing learning to read solfa (music reading) are taken into account.
