17 Sri Lankans who were to be sent to the Russian war by an employment agency based in Colombo and Nukekoda have escaped from Katunayake Airport.
They escaped from Katunayake Airport yesterday (03) afternoon when they were going to be sent to Russia for Russian army and civil works.
These include rubber milk workers and deserters from military service in Sri Lanka.

Those who knew that they were being sent to Russia for war told the media about their experience of the Russian trip and mentioned that they spent about 17 lakh 50 thousand rupees for this trip.
They have also said that they are going to get the money back from the employment agency and have left the airport in a hurry fearing that the refund might be affected.
It has been revealed that those who fled are from Gampaha, Kandy, Kampala, Ruvanwella, Galle, Matara and Akuressa.
