This Sunday it emerged that a Cuban nurse was allegedly murdered in Santiago de Cuba.
This was announced by the independent Cuban journalist, Yosmany Mayeta Labrada, through his Facebook account, where he specified that the victim’s name was Samantha Heredia, 22 years old.
In that sense, he specified that the nurse had graduated from the School of Nursing and Health Technology in Santiago de Cuba in 2022, and was currently working at the Josué País García de Micro III Polyclinic.
Supposedly, the Cuban woman lived with her husband, who was initially identified as the alleged murderer. Both resided in the Abel Santamaría neighborhood, better known as “El Sala’o” in Micro 1B.

What is known about the alleged murderer of the Cuban nurse
Mayeta added in his report that the alleged murderer, known as Pedro Carmenaty, is a Resident Doctor at the Juan Bruno Zayas Clinical Surgical Hospital in this Santiago province. According to some sources, this subject had already turned himself in to the authorities after committing the crime.
“He works here and Samantha visited the clinic a while ago in Orthopedics Room 3C (…) He already turned himself in, and if he did, it is because they are guilty,” confirmed a worker at that hospital center.
It turned out that the nurse’s remains are being laid to rest at the Santiago de Cuba funeral home.
This fact shows once again how the wave of homicides continues to rise in the midst of a climate of violence that invades the entire communist island.
