The trend for a serious growth in the sales of new passenger cars is also maintained in the second month of the year. By March 1, 7,602 new cars were sold in Bulgaria compared to 4,817 in the first two months of 2013, according to the statistics of the Ministry of the Interior. The growth is as much as 58 percent or 2785 more. The difference is huge, although 3,982 new cars were registered in January, and 3,620 in February – a slight decrease.
Registrations of newly imported used cars by March 1, 2024 are 34,436 compared to 27,662 in the first two months of last year. Here the increase is smaller – 24.5 percent.
For vehicles of category N1 – seven-seater vans and jeeps, registrations until March 1, 2024 are 1,086 new and 3,805 used. In the first two months of the year, there were 771 new and 2930 “new imports”.
Throughout last year, 37,722 new cars and 194,698 used cars were sold in Bulgaria. If the sales trend from the first two months continues, this year in Bulgaria the record for new car registrations of 45,300 units set in 2006 will be broken.
