Gopalganj: Lord Radha Krishna is locked in police station for last many years. To liberate them, the priests of Gopinath temple have been making rounds of court and police station for years. But now the court of Gopalganj CJM Manvendra Mishra has taken cognizance of this matter. Due to which he reacted strongly and imposed a fine on the police station officer. Actually, the Ashtadhatu idol was stolen from Radha Krishna temple in Bari Raibhan village of Hathua in the year 2018. Regarding which an FIR was lodged by the priest of the temple against unknown thieves in Hathua police station.

According to the information, on June 13, 2023, a pond was being excavated in Bari Raibhan village. During this time an idol of Ashtadhatu was recovered. The recovered idol was taken into custody by Hathua police and kept safe in the Malkhana of the police station. Regarding the recovered idol, it is being claimed that this idol is the same Ashtadhatu idol of Radha Krishna installed in the Gopinath temple in 1925. Which was stolen by unknown thieves in 2018. However, in this case of theft, the then Hathua police station incharge Prashant Kumar Rai had closed the case on 23 November 2018, calling the matter devoid of any truth. Police claimed that the recovered idol was not of Radha Krishna but of Ram Janaki.

Regarding this matter, informant Vipin Bihari Srivastava approached the court on 30 November 2023. After which, the CJM Court demanded a report from the Hathua police station on 17 January 2024, 16 February 2024 and 24 February 2024 regarding the ownership of the statue and its liberation. As the situation was not clear, an order was given to present the idol of the Lord in the court on March 1, 2024. But on March 1, 2024, on the oral request of the District Prosecution Officer, the box in which the idol was kept. The police officer who has its keys. He has been transferred to Buxar. Therefore it should be kept on 2nd March. But even on March 2, they are saying that the police officers are absent. The court admitted that due to non-compliance of the judicial order, the proceedings were being disrupted for two dates. It is clearly visible that the Hathua Police Station Head did not comply with the judicial order in a timely manner. Regarding this, in the form of postponement i.e. a tendency to postpone the work, instructions were given to deduct one thousand rupees from the salary of Hathua Police Station President. Now the next hearing will be on March 5. Now it remains to be seen how long God will be free from the need of the police station.
