The Court of Appeals decided to revoke the preventive detention of the former Seremi of Housing and Daniel Andrade, who must serve under house arrest while the investigation into the Living Democracy case continues.

The legal representative of the aforementioned foundation went in complete silence to Santiago to comply with house arrest, while the former Seremi of Housing addressed the situation with the media.
Regarding the revocation of preventive detention, Carlos Contreras stated that he was “happy and satisfied that the institutions function as has been said so much, that they should happen, that the pressures that we have proposed that exist, both communicational and political, have not permeated everyone.” the powers of the state, “There is still a lot to do, I remain available for the investigation, providing background information.”
“The times of the institutions are dissimilar”
To this, Carlos Contreras added upon his release from prison that “These procedures were public knowledge within the Ministry of Housing and the issue is that the time between the institutions is dissimilar. On the one hand, there was the information that had to be delivered at the pace of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the context of an investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office, and on the other hand, there was what could have been expressed in communication a long time ago. The problem is that one thing, sometimes, does not accompany the other.”
In that sense, Carlos Contreras explained: “I made the decision from the beginning to save myself for the Public Ministry process despite the consequences that this could have, that stories were established that were not correct or true regarding me or my management as seremi of the Ministry of Housing.
Carlos Contreras: “I aim for advice from the Presidency”
Regarding his relationship with La Moneda after the shock caused by the Covenants Case, the former Seremi of Housing said: “I am not disappointed in the Government As a whole, no, I couldn’t get to that point, there are many actors involved.”
